Things to do near Saundersfoot
Saundersfoot makes a good base: half of Pembrokeshire's best days out are within twenty minutes. Here's the shortlist — and we're the food stop on the way back.
Tenby
The walled seaside town everyone photographs — pastel houses, three beaches, boat trips and galleries. Ten minutes by car, or a cracking coast path walk.
Folly Farm
Adventure park, zoo and vintage funfair in one — the reliable full-day family option, with plenty under cover for wet days.
Heatherton
Go-karts, tree tops, golf and enough activities to exhaust anyone under sixteen (and most people over).
Manor Wildlife Park
Walkthrough animal encounters just outside Tenby — a calmer, closer-up zoo day.
Carew Castle
A Norman castle on a tidal mill pond with a famous Celtic cross — atmospheric and easy to combine with lunch out.
Pembroke Castle
Birthplace of Henry VII and one of Wales' great medieval fortresses. Worth the half-day.
Colby Woodland Garden
National Trust woodland garden near Amroth — bluebells in spring, streams for welly-splashing all year.
Caldey Island
Boat from Tenby harbour to the monastery island — chocolate made by monks, quiet beaches, big views.
Monkstone Beach
The secluded sandy cove between Saundersfoot and Tenby, reached from the coast path. Check tides before you go.
Wisemans Bridge
The little beach at the end of the tunnels walk — where, famously, D-Day landing rehearsals took place on the sands.
However you spend the day, finish it the same way: back at the harbour, table by the water, plates from the menu and something cold from the bar.
